Mersey View, Frodsham

c1905, before the helter-skelter was build. The entertainments on view consisted of American swing boats, donkey rides and informal ball games. The pleasure grounds were opened by Mr Briscoe in 1865. The buildings were extended to become a private club (now an extension to the Forest Hills hotel. Donkey rides and other amusements are long gone, though visitors can still enjoy numerous walks and extensive views from the top of the hill.
