Occupations

In spite of its borough status, agriculture remained an essential occupation as in most medieval towns, each burgage tenure holding rights to land in the surrounding fields. In the C17th and C18th yeoman and husbandman seem to be the most common occupations both in Frodsham and the lordship villages.A part from various building trades, mariner, cordwainer, webster, ironmonger, cheesefactor, tailor, woollen draper, chairmaker and cabinet maker are listed.
